Refurbished Apple Macs
When buying an MacBook (an Apple Mac laptop) note that there is a new processor chip out.
Apple create their own chips (e.g. M1, M2). You want to make sure when you buy a Mac now it has one of these chips. The old chips are Intel i3, i5 etc. which you want to avoid now.
Why? – Because they won’t be supported and you won’t be able to do certain tasks.
The lowest cost “M” chips start with the MacBook’s from 2020 – see deals here https://www.backmarket.co.uk/en-gb/l/macbook-pro-m1/1a81c0dc-5a18-42e3-9ff1-0015b68104d6
Another good place to search is eBay – with the search “apple MacBook pro m1 2020” – watch out and avoid ones with broken screens. From the £370+ mark they tend to be better condition. Also look out for the % off vouchers when buying from a company (also they may offer warranty + returns).
MacBook Air are lightweight laptops, the MacBook Pro is a bit more robust, then Mac Mini if you need a Mac and are not worried about portability.
